Blog 1: Ancient Art in Modern Time

There's a lot of thing that ancient art have influenced us thru the years. Such as the art of documenting important things that happen to us within that day by use of drawings but in our modern times drawing is equivalent to writing journals or a diary. Another one is by architecture, a lot of people have been fascinated by the work of our ancestors long ago when we're not yet been born and decided to continue on what our ancestors left to us but in different and modern architectures. And that's why we have courses such as architecture and engineering.

Next one would be the sculptures where it is made to commemorate great leaders long ago in ancient times. And until now sculpture is still being made for decoration in our house and a lot more. There's a lot more things that our ancestors gave to us but this would be the end for now.

And be eternally grateful to our ancestors who has left us the gift of art that we are know using in our daily lives.

Week 7: Future in Me

This is my montage. I made this at my Photoshop CS5. The picture that i have place in my montage is all the website i know that is popular. And also, i added a half face of a robot that represents me as a techie person. I chosen to work on this image because for me website help us keep in touch with our friends and family. And a big help for me as well because with the use of internet i can learn a lot of things. It just need a little time understand it all.

Website can also be a way of entertainment for us people. We can play games online and get to meet a lot of new friends with the use of online games. If we're feeling a little out of date in our world, there's always an online tv streaming in the net to keep us updated we everyday news around the world. Website is a way also to share our feelings and thoughts to other people that is far from us.

So that's why i choose to make this kind of montage fore our week 7 blog entry. Because we as a modern people can't survive without the aid of technology around us. And technology today, is now a part of our daily routine whether your young or old.

Week 6: Wish do Come True...In Dreams... ^_^

I choose this song because in my dream, i can be who ever i want it to be. Like a superstar, but only in my dreams. The animations that are shown here are the frequently dreams that i see when i fell asleep. In dreams many people say you can have whatever you want, super powers, money, gadgets, and lots more. I'm also asking myself, why is my dream short but when i wake up from my sleep its morning? That's the question that still mumbling in my head since i was in 3rd year high. Well, that's the fact about our dreams.

Week 5: Too Much Drugs is Bad!

Drugs help us heal from our sickness but too much of it will end up to death. People who have used illegal drugs are more likely can't stop the addiction of having to use it again and again. Its like a part of your daily routine that you can't start your day without even taking up even a single one of it. A lot of people who are addicted to it, spent up a lot of money in a single day even though they are poor. Other sell illegal drugs secretly because they know they cause a fortune. Even a gram may cause a thousand of bucks.

Since young people are very curious to a lot of things. They try it all even though these are good or bad for their health. In my observation, a lot of streets children uses rugby to satisfy themselves. They put the rugby in a plastic bag and inhale it again and again until they feel the effect. But little did they know, that using it may damage they're brain permanently. Instead of having a long life with your family, you may end up in the hospital for a long day or worst, death.

So instead of using illegal drugs, why not just bond with your family more. And most of all STOP USING DRUGS before its TOO LATE!

Week 4: Copy, Paste, and Print...!

Plagiarism is the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work, as by not crediting the author. This is one of the most common crimes done by students and writers. They copied other peoples works without giving credits to the original author. Some make it as it was their own work. A lot of people ignores this crime and continue to copy other people works because they know few percentage of people only goes to jail because of plagiarism.

Plagiarism also teach students how to lazy in doing reports for example. They will rely to the internet for others work and just copy and edit a little so nobody will know. But still even though you edit it, its steal not your idea and still under plagiarism law. Writing reports is not that hard and just take time to make a good idea and it will all be worth it if you finished it with your own words and ideas. And makes you feel good to yourself that you've done this report.

So stop copying others people work and let your brain do the thinking and let your hands do the writings. In the ends it will all be worth it...

Week 3: Time For FUN!!!

At last, the time has come to put ourselves into rest at least until the long weekend vacation ends. This is the time to sleep, watch tv, play computer, and etc. and not worrying about doing a lot of assignments. Too bad for this long weekend instead of sunny day all day long it brought us long rainy day because of tropical storm Mina. But maybe a little good for me because i'm not that outgoing person. I love just staying here in our house facing my laptop all day long. I never got bored doing it everyday but i do have lots of friends because in school i'm a little active person.

What an incredible stroke of luck for us students that 2 holidays occurs in a row this year. I hope it happens again. I know a lot of students enjoyed spending their long weekend as well me too. This a great opportunities for us to bond with our friends and family and share giggles with each other. For kids, this the time to bond with your ate and kuya.

Of course with all this excitement let us not forget to study hard so that we can achieve our goals in life. And a have better future for our family in the near future.

Week 2: Buwan ng Wika in 2011

In the Philippines, August is designated as the “Buwan ng Wika” (Language Month). It’s a month-long event celebrating the importance and significance of the official language of the nation, Filipino (formerly known as Tagalog). Before, it was only held for one week (August 13 to August 19) but amendments in the late 90’s officially changed the commemoration of the event to be celebrated for the whole month of August.

Buwan ng Wika in LPL was a big success because i can see that all students this year participated in every events that lpl have to offer. Such as the booth where each section of each class where assigned tomake their own booth where they can sell from foods to souvenirs for the Buwan ng Wika week long celebration at LPL. Every section also who participated in the dancing contest in Buwan ng Wika was great! The choir who sang at the event was spectacular, when hearing it almost feel like your souls is in heaven.

So I must say, its a big success where ever angle you may look and hopefully next year will be the same but more excited than today. :)

Week 1: The First Half In My New Course

The first half in my new course was amazing. I already got lots of friends. I thought at first, my first semester will be a lonely one but i was proven wrong because i made new friends already. My new classmates was nice so its easy for me to get a long with them really fast. All the professors in all the class that i attended was nice. Some of them are already familiar to me because i've been their student for the past year.

But its also hard for me to leave my first ever friends in my old department since i attended here in Lyceum. I remembered all our barkada trips like it was yesterday. The day we went to Los Banos for an overnight swimming then another swimming at Tall View in Talisay Batangas. That event was very memorable to me because we have a very good time. We share laughs at each other and sometimes secrets.

I hope the other half of this school year would also be a memorable one also. Like i have on my first year at Lyceum.

Social Media in the lives of People

Social media has been part of our life since the first internet was launch to the public. People nowadays can't leave without even checking their accounts daily. Social media is like a drug that people can't resist once influenced by other people. It has been a part of life and daily routine. Social media starts long ago when Friendster is still popular and Facebook is still on its way for people to discover. Even i use Friendster when it still popular.

Social media is now being used also for business advertisement. Did you know that only a few ads are being followed by people because most of the ads are spam or scam sites. A large percentage of people getting married today first met in a social websites such as Facebok. If some of the social website would be a country it can out rank some of the most know countries such as USA and China.

But be careful as always when using social websites because criminals nowadays use it to target or spy a persons life.

Mediocrity vs. Excellence

Nowadays people only aims for average knowledge instead of aiming for more knowledge which is bad for us. Because gaining more knowledge is the key for our country's success. We all know Dr. Jose P. Rizal, right? Dr. Jose Rizal not only aims for mediocrity or average knowledge only but instead his aiming for excellence or more knowledge much better. He thinks that with the use of his knowledge learned everyday, he can use it to help his citizens to free them up from the hands spaniards colony.

We also know that God made us equally and we shouldn't be treating other people like there just a useless things in the world. We should treat them with respect no matter how poor or rich they are. God also made us to love each other.

In my opinion, i can say that 3 out of 10 people only aims for a limited knowledge only needed for them to qualified for a job. We learn unconsciously meaning we're learning even though we don't know it or not conscious about it. So why limit ourselves with a limited knowledge only if there is a lot of things out there for us to explore and learn.

Traffic in Internet

Traffic in internet is like a hi-way that's full of cars going to each of their respective work. Because of this traffic in the net we sometimes feel the slowness of the internet connection when browsing the net. The cause of this is because many people are now browsing the net nowadays. Visiting the net has been peoples daily routine everyday. Just like in the hi-way more and more cars are now actively driving everyday. Since every month new cars are being invented.

If we take a look at the internet usage statics around the worlds, China has the largest population using the net everyday. For the Philippines, we are rank 6 in Asia who use the net daily. What does the internet has that peoples nowadays are getting addicted to it? For me, internet is like a ticket for you to go anywhere in the world with just one click. You don't need to book a flight just to go the place you want. Just a click away and your there. Easy as that.

But be sure to know when to stop because it can have a bad effect in your body when staying in front of your computer for a long period of time.

Futere of Technology

Its amazing how technology gradually technologies improving everyday just to improve one's life. I mean, look around you the future is almost here. All those gadgets suddenly appearing everywhere! Technology is great but too much of it might teach people to rely on technology rather than doing something by themselves with no help from the modern gadgets. As i'm imagining right now, people will have less exercise everyday which is a major factor to keep their body in good health.

Technology may have advantages and disadvantage in our life and this our as follow. Advantages of technology 1) can i'm prove our daily life 2) can track incoming weather 3) a way to spread out the news 4) can help people entertain when nothing to do 5) a fast way to communicate to other people far from you. Of course, if there are advantages for the technology there are also disadvantages of it. Disadvantages are as follow 1) can help criminal in planning for their next move 2) will teach people to be lazy 3) can harm ones person life 4) maybe use in way of cheating.

See how good and bad technologies can bring to our lives. So think wisely when using them. :)

The best video for me!

Among the video we have watched. The video that really got my attention was the video of Andrew's group. For me, their video was almost look like made by a professional video editor and the great thing is that we're just only first year students. I'm sure when time past and we get to learn a lot of things nothing can defeat us in making such arts like their video. Other groups did well also. I also like the concept of the group that made the stop animation. It was great! It catch my attention as well. Well done to all the group who putted a lot of effort in making each of there video! =)

Missing the Grafitti Party

Since i've missed the Graffiti Party, i've heard a lot of things about what happen at the party. There's a  famous bands played at the party. The band name is Parokya ni Edgar for short PNE. Too bad for me because that band is one of my favorite band. I know them because of their song "Para Sa'yo" and "Alumni Homecoming" this two are my favorites when it comes to pinoy local bands. I remember hearing their song when i'm still in highschool specifically 1st year high. I always here their song in the computer cafe i used to play when i've got free time.

I also remember listening to their song on the radio before i go to sleep. Even when i'm playing game consoles, i always wear a headset so i can enjoy myself while playing games. Yes, at my young age i was so addicted to their songs. For the other performer last Grafitti Party naming Moonstar88, just know them because of their song "Panalangin". The song is also my sister favorite when she is in grade school.

The Grafitti Party according to my friends and classmates was a big success and a loud and enjoyable time of their life. I hope i attended the party but too bad for me because i'm far from school. And if i attended the party i might go home late because few buses only travels at night.

Internet Usage in Asia

 According to the Internet World Stats website, asia has a total of 44% average of people using the internet everyday. Top of this list is China who has a total of 447 million people using the net everyday for their works, business, entertainment, and etc. followed by India who has 100 million people surfing the net everyday. As for as Philippines, we are on the top 6 out of top 10 countries using the net. That's a high rank if you ask me, since the internet introduce to us on late 1993.

Total people using the internet in the Philippines is about 29.7 million. Majority of this users uses the internet to browse in social websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Friendster, and etc. But did you know that crimes now a days uses social websites in planning their next move to there target person. Since many people just accept friend request even though they did not know that person. So always be alert when it comes to adding friends in your social website accounts. Don't accept request to the person you don't know.

Also, using computer for a long period of time may result to brain cancers and can make a person eyesight blurred. The cause of this illness is because computer gives out a lot of radiation that is bad for our body and too much of this may lead to death. So don't use your computer for a long time instead go outside and enjoy what God have given to us.

Why did I decide to stay at Lyceum of the Philippines University - Laguna?

I decided to stay because i know LPU will help me focus more on the course i've chosen since the campus itself is more focus in modern technology. I also admire the green environment of the campus which help us students breath with confidence not to worry about any bad air in the atmosphere around the school premisses. The services in every office is very good. A lot of students studying at LPU are very friendly and i'm positively sure within a week you'll make new friends. I'm satisfy also the way each professor molds every students mind to help them be a better person in the near future. I think that's all i can say about my current school and i'm proud to be a LYCEAN STUDENT @ LPU...
